how in the world is it the end of May already?  i'm confused.  i don't even remember March happening.  although, i think we went skiing a couple times. let's not even mention the month of April.  i honestly don't recall anything, other than owing money for taxes (AGAIN).  i'm supposed to believe that it will be June in a couple days?  absurd.

since the time's going so fast, it's fair to say that it will be July before you know it.  that means i'll be turning 30!  hopefully Vin will be able to come out to visit us.  Nick's throwing our annual Karaoke/BBQ party.  if Vin comes, he'll be able to partake in the festivities (since it will also be his b-day too!)

and if July is just around the corner then August will be sneaking up fast too.  which i'm really excited about because the 4th book in the Twilight series is coming out.  i'm waiting with bated breath for it!  the first chapter comes out tomorrow as a "teaser" in a special edition release of the 3rd book.  you better believe that i'm getting that!

before i know it, it'll be September.  we'll be vacationing with Nick's grandparents in the U.P.  that'll be exciting.  when we come back to the Northwest, i'll be taking a weekend trip to Forks, WA.  this is the locale of where the Twilight books are set.  it's going to be a huge event for fans.  i'm really excited about it!

October will be Nick's b-day! No plans yet for November...other than our annual Thanksgiving dinner with Dessero.  and then December marks the end of the year....see how quick time goes?!

Twilight

it's been a long time...i'm not entirely sure anyone even checks Xanga anymore...wow.

i don't want to complain about work, so that really leaves me limited to the amount of info going on with me lately.  but some really random and fun stuff that i'm into these days might have you amused...so i'll share all that with you.

first of all, i'm ADDICTED to reading Stephenie Meyers' books.  she's got 3 out right now.  "Twilight" , "New Moon" and "Eclipse".  they're called the Twilight series.  Kim's heard me rant and rave about them for the last month.  anyways...in the lowest common denominator, i will say the books are about first love, lost and redemption involving a human girl and a vampire.  talk about romeo and juliet!  they're great.  i have re-read them weekly since i've got them.  the 4th book comes out in Aug, and i can hardly contain my excitement for it!!!  (p.s.  there's a movie in production now and will be out in Dec!)

it's been so nuts that Nick's reading the first book to see what the hype is about.  i just love the characters, it's unhealthy how much i care for these fictional people.  so much so that i started drawing them in a sketchbook.  which leads me to topic #2.

my second bit of fun is that i signed Nick and myself up for Anime Art Basics drawing class.  we've been to one class so far.  it's only 3 weeks long.  the teacher is really strange, think Comic-con type girl.  she's enthusiastic, un-PC and just overall pretty amusing.  the class is fast-paced, and Nick and i get a hoot at how ridiculous our drawings come out.  clearly not what we pictured in our minds before commiting them to paper.

my third weird and unusual thing i've taken up is a Cake Decorating class.  i'm going with my coworker.  she's young (24) and really quiet.  we've also only been to one class.  it even has HOMEWORK!!!  we have to bake cakes/cupcakes to bring in to decorate.  we have to make the frosting beforehand, and have it colored and everything.  i had no idea...

both the Anime and Cake decorating class are at a local Michael's craftstore.  luckily we jumped onboard since this month is the last month they're having ANY classes.  they're cutting them out of the budget i guess.  that sucks, cause i would have really liked to take the Intermediate Anime class.  oh well.

happy new year!

it's the year of the Rat. it's both my dad & brother's zodiac year.

i'm hoping that there will be some delicious Bang Chung on my doorstep when i come home.  my mom was supposed to have sent me some.  it's a very traditional food made to celebrate the lunar new year.  speaking of lunar...there is a total lunar eclipse set to happen on Feb 20 i believe.

yesterday was Ash Wednesday....i gave up booze for Lent.  i also decided to go to church every weekend during Lent.  it's only 6 weeks, so i'm sure i can do it.

nick's dad and little brother will be out here visiting us next week.  that will be his brother's first visit out here.  we're all looking forward to it.  they want to try to to skiing while they're out here.  i think that our mountains will defintely impress them, since they've done their skiing in Michigan. good times!

today was pretty hairy getting into work.  there was alot of ice on the roads...it was like a skating rink.  i almost ate it in the parking lot.  good lord.

it took me and my carpool buddy 1h 20min to get into the office today.  we can usually make the drive in 25min.  talk about crazy.  we had to take some detours because of accidents.  we also had to take some detours of detours because it was too hilly and had to find a less steep way.  then we got turned around and ended up making our way farther from work than heading into work.  it was crazy.  so we stopped at Starbucks for a coffee. good times.

anyone else have anything interesting/exciting happen lately?

business trip...boo!!!!

man, i'm not really looking forward to this business trip i'm taking.  i'll be gone for an entire week.  i'm already behind at work, and being away from the office for another 5 days isn't going to put me ahead of the game.  this sucks.  plus...i HATE packing for business trips.  i've procrastinated long enough where i don't even have time to iron my clothes anymore.  hopefully the hotel will have an iron otherwise i will look like a wrinkled slob for the next 5 days.  oh well.

my flight leaves at 6:45 in the morning, that means i have to leave the house EARLY to get to the airport.  the plane lands around 930 and we're to be at my suppliers by noon or 1 for a half day meeting.  i won't get home until Friday night.  ugh.

this stinks...i'm not even really that prepared for my trip.  i don't feel that i have all my files.  or enough of my documentation with me.  this is no good!!!!  well, hopefully i get a good night's sleep cause lord knows that I'm not going to be getting any sleep on the airplane sitting next to my coworkers.  ugh.
